Eotaxin-2 is a CC chemokine that is a specific agonist for the chemokine receptor CCR3. It is produced by activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Eotaxin-2 induces chemotaxis of eosinophils as well as basophils and the release of histamine and leukotriene C4 from basophils.
